What It Is
Low Inventory automation notifies shoppers when a product they engaged with is about to sell out.
It taps into urgency and FOMO (fear of missing out), driving faster conversions while the product is still available in the customer’s preferred size or variant.
Example Message
MMS with product image (SMS fallback if not supported):
“Just a heads up—{{product_name}} is almost sold out. Grab it now before it’s gone: {{product_url}}.”
Best-Practice Default Settings
- Message Type: MMS with product image (preferred); SMS fallback if image not available
- Timing: Real-time when inventory drops below the threshold
Inclusions
- Customer viewed or engaged with the product within the last 7 days
- User is identified and opted in
Suppressions
- If an order has been placed within the last 7 days
- If this specific trigger has been sent to this subscriber for this product in the past.
- Quiet hours: 8 PM–8 AM local (messages queued until morning)
Product Logic
- Sends only for the specific item (color) that dropped below the threshold
- Default threshold: ≤20 units (best practice for retail apparel/accessories; can be adjusted by brand)
