Abandoned Checkout automation follows up with shoppers who started the checkout process but did not complete their order.
This is the highest-intent recovery flow — the customer already signaled strong purchase intent but didn’t finalize payment.
Example Message
MMS with product image (SMS fallback if not supported):
“Almost there—your checkout is still open. Complete your order now and we’ll take care of the rest: {{customer_cart_url}}.”
Best-Practice Default Settings
- Message Type: MMS with product image (preferred); SMS fallback if image not available
- Timing: 45–60 minutes after checkout started but not completed
Inclusions
- Checkout initiated
- User is identified and opted in
- Product(s) are in stock
Suppressions
- If an order has been placed within the last 7 days
- Quiet hours: 8 PM–8 AM local (messages queued until morning)

- Displays the first item from checkout

- Max 1 message per checkout event
